The Digital Repository of Ireland, Wikimedia Ireland, and the Library of Trinity College Dublin are co-hosting a Digital Preservation Community Workshop on 30th November as part of TCD Library's marking of International Digital Preservation Day
Welcome to DRI's new series of Knowledge Sharing Sessions! This series of one-hour sessions are designed to focus on particular areas of interest in the world of digital preservation. We're taking this opportunity to share what we've learned from working with our members to those currently working in digital preservation in Ireland, with the intention of helping tease out some of the thornier issues that come up for those working with digital collections.
The first of these sessions, on the topic of Orphan Works, takes place on 7 November 2017 in the Royal Irish Academy and will be presented by Kevin Long, Digital Archivist at DRI. Kevin will discuss the issue of orphan works (objects with no known rights holder) in digital collections, the process of registering them with the Patents Office and the 2012 EU Directive on Orphan Works.
On Monday 19th June 2017 at 5.30pm, the Transport Infrastructure of Ireland (TII) in collaboration with the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI) and the Discovery Programme, launches the TII Digital Heritage Collections.
