Dr Sandra Collins, the Director of the DRI, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 10th international Forum on International Cultural Industries in Beijing on January 5-6th 2013. Her speech, delivered to over 300 delegates from across China, addressed the challenges and opportunities involved in digital preservation and online access.
 
The Forum on International Cultural Industries, China (FICI) is held annually by Peking University and managed by the Institute for Cultural Industries at Peking University under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, and the State Administration of Radio Film and Television. Since its foundation in 2003, the Forum, aimed at promoting communication between the government, enterprise, and academia, has been pursuing innovations in strategy and development, and has been reinforcing the interaction between policy, advanced theory and industrial practice.
 
Sandra's participation was kindly sponsored by Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Irish Embassy in Beijing, and Peking University.
