Software Engineer – Internationalization Team





Monica is part of the DMC team where she works as a Software Engineer, dedicated to the development of web-based applications utilising Ruby on Rails.

Monica graduated in June 2010, achieving a First Class Honours degree in Business Computing. Ranked first in the class and in the top two for the school as a whole, she was awarded two gold medals for the Student Academic Excellence from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).

Monica has taken a strong role in a range of projects across the diverse strands of activity at the DMC. She has developed a language corpus application for English Profile at Cambridge University Press. She has also been involved with the Decipher project, aiming to change the way people access digital heritage, and with the RIS project, a research information system, helping to manage the research activity across DIT,

She is currently working with the team producing a language application for the ChAT project – seeking to address the major obstacles faced by learners of Chinese by providing supporting audio technologies developed in the DIT.
