Damien Gallagher is a senior software engineer in An Foras Feasa. He was the lead software engineer for the Irish in Europe prosopographical virtual learning environment, the CRADLE digital repository for the Irish Film Institute, Intel and the Bibliography of Irish Literature Criticism (BILC). He has produced interactive kiosks for the Strangers to Citizens exhibition at the National Library of Ireland.
Previous to his role at An Foras Feasa Damien spent several years working as a software engineer at NUI Maynooth’s John Paul II Library, actively querying and customising the library’s ALEPH database, EPrints archive and SFX link server.
Damien has experience in the development, deployment and maintenance of digital humanity and library repositories and databases. He has extensive knowledge of metadata standards, archive-quality data formats, data harvesting protocols and advanced data indexing.
